Belle Meade Animal Hospital now performs OFA and PennHIP Testing!

OFA and PennHIP Testing are radiographic screening tools to help evaluate dogs for hip dysplasia and other orthopedic conditions. Each is a series of radiographs that our veterinary team is specially trained to perform.  These  methods help assess hip conformation at an earlier age and can help predict the risk of osteoarthritis. PennHip radiographs can be done as early as 16 weeks of age. OFA radiographs are typically done when a pet is 24 months of age or older. PennHIP and OFA radiographs require light sedation to be performed.

Our Reviews

“I just took my cat to Belle Meade Animal Hospital after a bad experience at another vet and it was the best experience I could have had. The whole staff is so kind from the front office staff, to the woman who took us to the room, & Dr. Roberts.”

“The best vet you’ll ever need. They saved my dogs life. They heeled my golden retriever’s broken foot when two other vets couldn’t. The staff from the receptionist to the vet techs to the doctors are just fabulous.”
