Vaccines and Your Puppy

We believe in creating a personalized vaccine schedule that is tailored for your puppy’s needs to maximize the protection against any diseases he or she is likely to be exposed to. There are many diseases that are preventable through the judicious use of vaccines, so it is important to create an individualized protocol early in life to protect both your puppy and your family.

Microchipping

Much like vaccinations, microchips can help keep your puppy safe. If your pet should ever become lost, their unique microchip identifier will help bring them home safely. Click to learn more about microchipping your pet.

Your Puppy’s First Visit

In preparation for your puppy’s first visit with us, it is helpful to bring the health information provided to you by the seller or shelter. This information should include a previous history of vaccines and deworming. We also ask that you bring a fresh stool sample, and bring your puppy on a leash or in a secure carrier.

I discovered Quakertown Vet when my 19 year old cat was found after having spent 3 weeks outside. I wanted him to be seen immediately, and Quakertown Vet was able to accommodate same day. Their emergency cost was VERY reasonable, and they aren't like other places where they wanted payment BEFORE they even saw my pet. 2 years later and we had to have our same, now 21 year old cat, put down and we brought him back here. They did not charge me an emergency fee and told me they would bill me for the service that day. I had Gizmo cremated and he was returned to me in under a week. Not only did he come back in a nice box, but I received paw prints, nose prints and two glass bottles with his fur in it. It was amazing. I now have two new cats, Luna and Loki, that have both been seen here and I will continue to bring them for their yearly visits for the rest of their lives!

No one ever wants an emergency situation with a pet, but if it happens, this team provides excellent and efficient care. You can call ahead to get your pet on the queue. The vet spoke with me at length and discussed possibilities so we could determine a treatment plan for my girl. She gave additional medications to be on the safe side and cover any contingent infections, and one of the medications is helping her feel better. She helped me get an ultrasound appointment asap, so hopefully we will soon know more and develop a long term plan going forward. Also all the helpers at the front desk are knowledgeable, kind, and patient, and understand the stress and worries of a pet parent going through medical challenges.
