Managing Chronic Conditions in Pets

If your pet is diagnosed with a chronic condition such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, or thyroid disease, we will closely monitor your pet to help manage his or her condition. As we monitor your pet’s chronic condition, our veterinarians can recommend adjustments to his or her diet, changes in medications and treatments, and create a specialized monitoring schedule. Signs of an Underlying Condition in Your Pet

The following signs may indicate underlying disease. If you notice any of these signs in your pet, please give us a call right away:

Lethargy
Loss of appetite, Decreased appetite
Weight loss/gain
Vomiting
Diarrhea or constipation
Coughing
Sneezing
Increased drinking or urination
Inappropriate urination or defecation (indoors)
Limping
Difficulty rising, walking or climbing stairs
Itching
Shaking head
Foul smelling ears

Eye or nose discharge
Minor cuts
Wounds that are not healing
Confusion, disorientation, anxiety or changes in sleep patterns
New lumps or bumps
